Accommodation

Accommodation is usually a combination of bungalows, lodges and sometimes a pre-erected tented camp, 3-4 Star Guesthouses, SA National Park chalets and some selected B/B's all with firm beds are selected. They are clean and comfortable with a rustic charm, some are more luxurious than others depending on where we travel. Wherever possible facilities include en suite bathrooms with shower OR bath. Should we only be able to book accommodation with a shared facility (between two bedrooms in a chalet), we will notify you at the preliminary stage before proceeding any further, this is very unlikely. The accommodation is a twin or double bedded room with private bath or shower at the named hotels or substitutes.

Meals

In an attempt to keep the tour price stable, where we need to use restaurants, some dinners are EXCLUDED. All dinners are excluded for both Cape Town tours (5 day add on and 14 day tour). Unless otherwise stated on the tour sheet itinerary, breakfast is a full English breakfast, lunch is a 'light' lunch or 'picnic' lunch of sandwiches, juice, a fruit and snack bar or peanuts and dinner is a substantial meal of a main course and pudding. If water is preferred please request this. If we choose to have lunch in a restaurant for convenience there is a sealer of R55 per head which includes your tea/coffee or cool drink

Due to power cuts in South Africa and given that schedule times of such cuts are not being adhered to, we, Meet Us in Africa CC, cannot guarantee the normal standard of meals from our providers. We commit to doing our best for you under these trying circumstances and will see that you do not 'go hungry'. But whilst the problems are being 'ironed out' we cannot take responsibility for food being 'cold' or other 'alternatives' being offered should our restaurants and accommodation establishments not be able to perform at their best and present you with what you have ordered. We would ask also that for the time being, you stay away from venison, pork and sea-food. Your understanding is much appreciated

The Leader/s and Guide

This is one and the same person. The leader is a qualified registered South African Tour Guide. Within Meet Us in Africa CC, the Mc Donalds have run all the tours personally for over 16 years. They do their best to choose good accommodation and source good food. They do not profess to know everything, but are happy to look things up and inform you later, either on the tour or if it is photographs when you get home. They do not inundate you with facts and figures, but prefer to expose you to 'new experiences' in a quiet way that is thought provoking and encourages your questions. Your participation and interest is personal and if you do not ask you will not be bombarded with information

The Tour Price

This is based on per person sharing and an added extra for S/S (Single Supplement). We shall state this on enquiry. Single supplements are organised on request and are an extra charge (30 -35%) added to tour price. Please confirm published prices at time of booking.

Price INCLUDES transportation in South Africa, accommodation, meals (except where indicated), entry fees.

Price EXCLUDES porters (usually R5-R10 a case) and tips (usually R20 per table for 2 night stay), (Room service domestic R40 for 2 night stay for 2 people). All drinks including Spring Water, wine, curios, film and items of a personal nature. A transfer from the airport is excluded where clients are not starting a tour with Meet Us in Africa CC or ending it. Game drives and guided walks unless with Meet Us in Africa CC. Boat trips including Robben Island

Optional Extras

There are times when optional extras can be booked en route. These activities are for your own account should you wish to participate. This applies to all 'Parks Board' Game drives be they Day drives or Night Drives and 'Parks Board' Guided Walks. We do our own walks with you but some game reserves offer a walk outside the camp or 'recognized picnic area', with Game Guards who need to be armed and trained in regard to elephant, rhino and other dangerous animals. You must sign their indemnity and take note of their terms and conditions. Availabilty of these drives or walks cannot be guaranteed as we can only book them on arrival. Costs we may quote will be approximate as changes in price occur regularly. Robben Island Boat trip is an optional extra. If this trip is not taken we will use the time and pay entry to the Cape Town Castle.
