Tour Review :
“I am very pleased with the 67 species not seen before, taking my SA list to twice my European total. I really enjoyed being with you again and it is thanks to you that my SA list is so high. What a wonderful two weeks! ” John Millman UK, Oct 2011
"What a wonderful two weeks! A great success. We are privileged to have discovered SA through you."
The Tropic of Capricorn passes through South Africa’s Limpopo Province, which lies to the north of Johannesburg and borders with Botswana to the west, Zimbabwe to the north. This is a low risk malarial area in the drier months and in early spring. It lies to the west of the Kruger Park and has excellent birding in different habitats. From the wetland of Nylsvley in the south to Mapungubwe National Park, World Heritage Site in the far north encompassing the Soutpansberg mountains, the picturesque Waterberg Mountains in the south east and the Afromontane forests of Magoebaskloof.

A Bat Hawk also frequents the area. Travelling north Mapungubwe or ‘Hill of the Jackal’ is one of the richest archaeological sites in the country. A World Heritage Site, its northern boundary is the Limpopo River. The lookout point at the confluence of the Shashe and Limpopo Rivers is awe-inspiring overlooking South Africa, Zimbabwe and Botswana.
